Confederation of Asia–Pacific Employers

CAPE is the council of Asia-Pacific employer federations. It was established to assist employers in the region to respond to challenges and opportunities created by globalisation, rapid technological change and increasingly global labour markets. The Australian Chamber represents Australian employers on CAPE. 

CAPE advocates economic and social policies to make the Asia-Pacific region more attractive to do business and to work in. It seeks better social and economic outcomes for communities.

Established in Singapore in 2000, to improve the Asia-Pacific region as a place to invest and do business in, and to promote the social and economic development of the more than 4 billion people in the region, CAPE provides a forum for national employer bodies from throughout the Asia-Pacific Region to address critical issues for doing business, and employing in local communities.

CAPE provides an important forum for national business leaders through the region to identify and address concerns for their economies and communities as the region undergoes major and rapid economic and social changes prompted by continued globalisation, technological change and enhanced competition, and to develop well-coordinated common responses and strategies. It also provides an important forum for elevating key concerns and priorities to international forums such as the ILO and its Asia-Pacific regional meetings.
