The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and BDO are pleased to announce a series of informative workshops led by international ICC Incoterms® rules expert Mr Bob Ronai (listen to his podcast at the International Chamber of Commerce), who was in ICC’s Drafting Group for this latest edition. He will be joined by Mr Bill Cole, BDO’s International Trade Partner, who also consulted on the development to the 2020 version of the ICC Incoterms® rules.

Attendees of the workshop will be taken through the new ICC Incoterms® 2020 rules in a comprehensive 3.5 hour interactive session. Practitioners in this area are also encouraged to attend as the workshop may be compliant with the CPD requirements of your state or territory.*

The ICC Incoterms® rules are standard ‘trade terms’ used in international and domestic sale contracts to allocate certain obligations, costs and risks between the seller and the buyer. When one party wants to trade with another, whether within Australia or around the globe, both parties need to understand the details of the trade. The ICC Incoterms® 2020 rules feature updates to the renowned set of international commercial terms that define the responsibilities of actors in the system.

The first set of ICC Incoterms® rules was published by ICC in Paris 1936. Since then, ICC has periodically revised the terms and definitions to reflect changes in the international trade system. For decades, ICC Incoterms® rules have provided critical guidance to importers, exporters, lawyers, transporters and insurers across the world.

Each ticket to the workshop comes with the newly released ICC Incoterms® 2020 publications including the book, pocket guide and wallchart.
