Vale Former ACCI President Harold Clough AO OBE

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) remembers and celebrates the life of eminent businessman Harold Clough AO OBE, a former ACCI President from 1993 to 1995.
“Mr Clough was a titan of the WA business community and a towering figure in the Australian Chamber movement who believed strongly in the values of our organisation” ACCI Chief Executive Andrew McKellar said.
“The passing of Mr Clough is a sad moment for the Australian Chamber movement but also a time to reflect on what an inspirational example Mr Clough is of how talent and hard work can pay off.”
“What Mr Clough achieved over his 95-year lifetime is nothing short of extraordinary and will leave a lasting impact on the Australian business community.”
“He oversaw the growth of one of our most recognisable engineering and construction companies and also built one of Perth’s first high-rise towers.”
“Never shying away from advocating for free trade, competition and regulatory reform, Mr Clough not only served as ACCI President but also as President and Life Member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of WA (CCIWA).”
“He was also recognised with Order of Australia honours for services to business and awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the University of Western Australia for his significant contribution to research.”
