The Australian Chamber’s Bryan Clark presented to an APEC workshop on Rules of Origin (ROO) related to the potential development of a Free Trade Area of the Asia – Pacific (FTAAP) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 22 August 2017.
The workshop was to help APEC economies better understand the difficulties faced by the private sector and customs authorities in utilising and implementing Rules of Origin (ROO).
The organisers sought the Australian business perspective on rules of origin in free trade agreements and in particular, the experience of Australian companies in utilising ROO, given Australia’s established FTA network.
This was a further valuable opportunity to press our case about the costs to business created from the complexity of inconsistent agreements within our region and globally. Bryan’s presentation is available for download.
