Australian Chamber-Tourism welcomes the appointment of Senator Birmingham as Minister for Trade and Tourism

Australian Chamber-Tourism, Australia’s peak body of tourism organisations, congratulated the Hon Simon Birmingham MP, on his appointment to the Trade and Tourism portfolio.
“We welcome the appointment of Senator Birmingham as the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment and are pleased that there is a continuation of strong leadership in the portfolio,” Australian Chamber-Tourism Executive Chair, John Hart, said.
“Minister Birmingham’s background in the tourism, hospitality and education sectors positions him well to work with business to highlight the enormous potential of Tourism.”
“We look forward to working with the Minister on the Tourism Beyond 2020 policy priorities and progressing other initiatives to promote business confidence and investment in Tourism.”
“Tourism Works for Australia – it is an economic powerhouse employing over half a million people across the country. We will continue to work with the Government to ensure that policy settings are conducive to continue this positive growth story.”
