Australian Chamber calls on State and Territory Governments to endorse NEG

The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomes the passage of the National Energy Guarantee (NEG) through the Federal Coalition party room.
“Business wants politicians to get on with their job of providing Australia with policy certainty – so that businesses can get on with their job of investing and driving the Australian economy,” Australian Chamber CEO, James Pearson, said.
“It is now time for the politicking to end and all State and Territory governments to get behind the framework quickly.
“Power prices must come down if Australian business is to stay competitive. Cheaper energy and lower emissions are not incompatible. The NEG plus key recommendations of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission can deliver that.”
