ICC Australia National Policy Committee meeting  

The ICC Australia National Policy Committee will meet virtually on Thursday, 27 July, from 2:30 – 3:30pm AEST/ 

Special guest speaker Paul Hubbard, acting deputy head of the Simplified Trade System Implementation Taskforce, will provide a brief overview of the taskforce and the benefits for Australian business followed by a short Q&A session.

Seeking input for ACCI consultation 

ACCI is seeking for member input for three consultations that are underway. 

  1. Simplified Trade System Implementation Taskforce: The STS Taskforce has released a consultation paper seeking input about how to make cross-border trade cheaper, faster, and easier for Australian businesses by streamlining Australia’s international trade regulations and modernising outdated ICT systems. 
  2. CPTPP Post Implementation Review: The Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade is seeking feedback from businesses and other interested stakeholders on the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) as part of its Post-Implementation Review (required to take place within 5 years of entry into force). 
  3. Export Market Development Grants Program: Austrade has begun consultations with interested stakeholders about the future direction of the Export Market Development Grants program with a view to ensuring the program is best supporting export businesses, aligned with the government’s trade diversification and trade policy agenda. The consultation paper was released on 5 July, with input requested by 11 August.
