Chain of Survival and Heart Health in the Workplace with Greg Page, Heart of the Nation and Adj. Prof. John Kelly AM, Heart Foundation

Why is using a defibrillator important? A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone. Survival rates fall by 10% every minute without defibrillation. Using a defibrillator within three minutes of a cardiac arrest can improve a person’s chance of survival as much as 70%.

This zoom conference was with Greg Page Founder of Heart of the Nation Australia & John G Kelly AM CEO of the Heart Foundation.

Greg was best known as the Yellow Wiggle, however since early 2020, Greg is now known as The Wiggle who had a cardiac arrest on stage & survived. Greg’s life was saved because of immediate use of CPR & the AED.

At this session members heard from Greg on his Heart of the Nation initiative & mission to promote the importance of the Chain of Survival for better outcomes for people that experience sudden cardiac arrest.

We also heard from John G Kelly AM on the impacts & initiatives business leaders can undertake to promote heart health & well-being for their organisations & workplaces.
