#BackingTheBush Events | Batemans Bay

Many of our towns in regional Australia have been hit hard by bushfire and drought. Small business owners and their staff form the backbone of these communities, and they have lost the vital holiday trade that keeps them going for the rest of the year. Now, more than ever, we must back those who have been impacted by natural disaster.

So, in support of the NSW Business Chamber’s #BackingTheBush initiative, ACCI has decided to hold the next General Council meeting in Batemans Bay, together with other events and activities. The aim of these events is to help bushfire-affected businesses in a practical way by bringing Australian business leaders to the area, spreading awareness, and inviting others to do the same.

ACCI is inviting local business representatives and the following to address members at these events (to be confirmed):

  • Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, Federal Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business
  • Senator the Hon Simon Birmingham, Federal Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment
  • Senator the Hon Jonathon Duniam, Federal Assistant Minister for Regional Tourism
  • Senator Jim Molan AO DSC, Senator for New South Wales
  • The Hon Andrew Constance MP, State Minister for Transport and State Member for Bega
  • Andrew Colvin, APM OAM, Head of the National Bushfire Recovery Agency
  • Phillipa Harrison, Managing Director, Tourism Australia
